Wilkie Collins
William Wilkie Collins was born on January 8th, 1824 in Maryle, London. He was born into the family of the painter William Collins. He received his education at home then went on to attend boarding school.
Characteristics: Wilkie was an English novelist,play write, and author of Short stories. He wrote many plays, and works of literature, however some never got published. Influences: Wilke was influenced greatly by those around him. One such person was Charles Dickens. They became great friends and Charles and Charles helped Wilke out in anyway he could. A number of Collins's works were first published in Dickens's journals Famous Works: The Woman in White, The Moonstone, and No Name. |
